Friday Update - July 30th
This week was mostly about housekeeping, bugs fixing and some improvement on UX, in preparation for our work with Minami, when we expect to get some great design ideas to improve the overall user experience.
But mostly, we spent most of our time preparing tutorials, documentation, and beginners guides. Follow the links below to learn how to use Alphacast!
New chart features: unstacked bars
Now the bar charts have the options of stack and unstack the series on the fly by clicking the option next to the timeline (ahhh, bar charts now have timelines!).
To make this option available in your charts go to the "Customization" tab in the chart editor and uncheck the "Hide Stacked Toggle" button.
New chart features: forecasts
Line charts are great to visualize forecast. We've added a new feature to simplify creating and managing those charts.
If you select a variable and a second with the same name plus the suffix "_forecast" then the platform will do the magic and know that they are linked. The forecast variable will be dotted and both will have the same color
Okay, maybe we exaggerated, you also need to check the "is forecast" button

New left menu: back and forth between "front-end" and "Creation" area
Lot's of things on the pipeline to make charts creations easier but for a start we are working to better integrate the "front-end" where you explore the data and repos and the "creation" area, where you create charts and datasets.
