The inflationary flash in October that scared the government and precipitated the price freeze

Several price indices detected an unusual acceleration in the first days of October

In the first days of October, consumer prices had their most important acceleration since March of this year, the month in which the highest data of the Indec Consumer Price Index (CPI) was recorded so far this year. The acceleration of gondola remarks detected by private consultants that measure prices week by week throughout the country occurred just after the official index accelerated to 3.5% in September. The data scared the government and explains the decision of the new Secretary of Commerce, Roberto Feletti, to try to bring prices back to October 1 in an attempt to erase the inflationary flash.
