Banco Central de la República Argentina (BCRA) is the central bank of Argentina, responsible for issuing and regulating the country's currency and managing its monetary policy.

This dataset includes daily information on the evolution of Argentina main monetary variables and their daily balances: monetary base, international reserves, deposits, loans, interest rates, Central Bank instruments, etc. Data is also available at constant prices, as % of GDP, 30-day cumulative sum, and seasonally adjusted in some cases

This dataset includes:
1. BCRA international reserves: gold, foreign currency, time deposits and others, balances at the end of the month and monthly average of daily balances, in millions of US dollars. 
2. Monetary aggregates: balances at the end of the month in thousands of pesos. 
3. Money and credit, balances at the end of the month in millions of pesos.
4. Interest rates, monthly average in annual nominal percentage.

## BCRA is reducing its USD futures short position

Depreciation expectations have decreased substantially in recent months, allowing Argentina's central bank to reduce its USD futures short position to USD 963mn in April (down from USD 5.7bn in last October). The forex market has relieved some pressure compared to H2-20, allowing the BCRA to increase its stock of net reserves.
