This dataset compiles monthly key price indices for India from the Reserve Bank of India's Weekly Statistical Supplement (Major Price Indices table), originally compiled by MoSPI and the Office of the Economic Adviser (DPIIT).

Consumer Price Index (CPI) - Combined, Rural and Urban. India rebased the CPI from base 2012=100 to 2024=100, with the new series effective from December 2025 data. To keep the historical series continuous, all values before December 2025 have been rescaled onto the 2024=100 base using the official MoSPI linking factors (Combined 0.5267, Rural 0.5222, Urban 0.5320); these constant factors leave year-on-year inflation unchanged. The column names keep the historical '(2012=100)' label for continuity, but every value is now expressed on base 2024=100.

Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers - base 2016=100, unaffected by the CPI revision.

Wholesale Price Index (WPI) - All Commodities, plus Primary Articles, Fuel and Power, and Manufactured Products. The WPI was rebased from 2011-12=100 to 2022-23=100 (new series effective with April 2026 data). To keep the series continuous, values from April 2023 onward use the official OEA/DPIIT new-base (2022-23=100) figures, and earlier values were rescaled onto the new base with the official linking factors (All Commodities 1.53, Primary Articles 1.71, Fuel and Power 1.65, Manufactured Products 1.44). The column names retain the historical '(2011-12=100)' label for continuity.

These indices are represented as CSI = 100 + Average of Net Responses for the mentioned parameters, as well as FEI = 100 + Average of Net Responses for the same parameters, respectively.
