In 2006, the CIF began conducting the Inflation Expectations Survey (EI). This survey, carried out with the same panel of respondents as the Consumer Confidence Index, aims to gather public opinion regarding the trajectory of the overall price level over the next twelve months. In this way, it provides an estimate of the expected “perceived inflation,” which influences, among other things, wage negotiations, consumer decisions, agents’ assessment of the economy’s performance, and their confidence in the government.

This dataset includes Argentina's monthly Leading Indicator (IL), which comprises ten series selected from among over a hundred using various criteria, including conformity, temporal consistency, economic rationality, representation, availability, and opportunity. The Diffusion Index reflects the proportion of series that increased in a given month and indicates the extent of the spread of the increase or decrease among different sectors and economic aggregates
