This dataset provides bimonthly data from the Consumer Confidence Survey (CCS) conducted by the Reserve Bank of India. The survey collects information on people's current perceptions compared to a year ago and their expectations for the next year regarding the general economic situation, employment prospects, overall price trends, and personal income and spending in 19 major cities. The Consumer Sentiment Index (CSI) and Future Expectations Index (FEI) are calculated based on the net responses related to economic conditions, income, spending, employment, and price levels for both the current period (compared to one year ago) and the year ahead. These indices are represented as CSI = 100 + Average of Net Responses for the mentioned parameters, as well as FEI = 100 + Average of Net Responses for the same parameters, respectively.
