The Bank of Guatemala (BANGUAT) is the central bank of the Republic of Guatemala. It is an autonomous state entity with its own assets capable of acquiring rights and assuming obligations. BANGUAT acts as the entity responsible for centralizing funds from financial institutions within the national financial system, including the national banking system. Additionally, it serves as the issuer of the national currency called Quetzal and contributes to creating and maintaining optimal conditions for the development of the national economy.
