The Federal Reserve Bank of New York (FRB-NY) is one of the 12 regional banks of the Federal Reserve System and is responsible for implementing monetary policy in the Second District, which covers the New York State and portions of New Jersey and Connecticut. The FRB-NY acts as the central bank for the US government and is responsible for implementing monetary policy, supervising and regulating financial institutions, and maintaining stability of the financial system.
