This dataset includes the quarterly Business Confidence Index (ICE) published by the Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD). This indicator, established in the Industrial Outlook Survey, gauges entrepreneurs' perceptions regarding the climate for investment, the national economy, the international economy, the status of their company, and the branch or subsector of activity in which their company operates. In essence, it captures the perceptions that entrepreneurs hold regarding the environment in which they conduct their businesses, indicating the extent to which they feel more or less optimistic concerning these various indicators.

The AIRD was founded on April 7, 1962. It is the largest and most important industrial association in the Dominican Republic, comprising over 200 industries (direct and indirect members) across 23 subsectors, including food and beverages, plastics, paper, textiles, mining, energy, steel, cement, and other construction-related products, pharmaceuticals, personal and household care products, tobacco, among others. It is composed of more than 20 sectorial and regional associations.

This dataset includes information from the Monthly Services Survey (EMS) conducted by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) in Mexico. The EMS collects information from companies and establishments engaged in activities such as commerce, transportation, communication, financial services, among others. The survey collects data on sales, employees, wages and labor benefits, operating expenses, and investment in the services sector, which is used to calculate important economic indicators. Base year is 2018=100.
The data for 2023 and 2024 are preliminary figures published by INEGI.

This dataset includes monthly consumer confidence index published. The Index of Consumer Confidence is calculated from the combination of responses to 11 survey questions. Those questions, current state of the economy in the local area and in the country and its expected state 6 mths ahead; current personal financial situation and the expected situation 6 mths ahead; making a major purchase like a home or car now compared to 6 mths ago; making other household purchases now compared to 6 mths ago; confidence about own and relatives' job security and own ability to invest in the future and save money for retirement now compared to 6 mths ago and losing job as a result of economic conditions in the last 6 months and in the coming 6 mths. Consumer confidence is measured on a scale of 0 to 100, where 0 indicates an extreme lack of confidence, 50 neutrality and 100 extreme confidence.
