The World Bank is a global development organization that provides financial and technical assistance to developing countries for the pursuit of economic development and poverty reduction. It is one of the five institutions that make up the World Bank Group, along with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the International Development Association (IDA), the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA).
