This dataset includes yearly information of patents applications, grants and in force published by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) A patent is a set of exclusive rights granted by law to applicants for inventions that are new, non-obvious and commercially applicable. It is valid for a limited period of time (generally 20 years), during which patent holders can commercially exploit their inventions on an exclusive basis. In return, applicants are obliged to disclose their inventions to the public in a manner that enables others, skilled in the art, to replicate the invention. This dataset includes annual information about intentional homicides per 100,000 people disaggregated by sex. Intentional homicides are estimates of unlawful homicides purposely inflicted as a result of domestic disputes, interpersonal violence, violent conflicts over land resources, intergang violence over turf or control, and predatory violence and killing by armed groups. Intentional homicide does not include all intentional killing; the difference is usually in the organization of the killing. Individuals or small groups usually commit homicide, whereas killing in armed conflict is usually committed by fairly cohesive groups of up to several hundred members and is thus usually excluded.

The indicator is segmented into the number of postpaid subscriptions and the count of active prepaid accounts (i.e., those utilized in the last three months). It applies to all mobile cellular subscriptions providing voice communications and excludes subscriptions via data cards or USB modems, subscriptions to public mobile data services, private trunked mobile radio, telepoint, radio paging, and telemetry services. These subscriptions correspond to a public mobile telephone service that provides access to the PSTN using cellular technology.

The Center for Systemic Peace (CSP) was founded in 1997. This dataset includes yearly information of the economic freedom index published by Fraser Institute, for multiple countries. The index measures the degree towhich the policies and institutions of countries are supportive of economic freedom, in five major areas: [1] Size of Government; [2] Legal System and Security of Property Rights; [3] Sound Money; [4] Freedom to Trade Internationally; [5] Regulation. Comprehensive data are available only with a two-year lag, so the index itself has a two-year lag. Within the five major areas, there are 26 components in the index. Many of those components are themselves made up of several sub-components. In total, the index comprises 44 distinct variables.

This dataset includes yearly information of the Freedom Index for multiple countries, published by Cato Institute. The Freedom Index measures Economic Freedom, Political Freedom, and Legal Freedom. Scores range between 0 and 100 with higher values indicating more freedom. Countries on the Freedom Index are divided into four categories based on their overall score: those above a seventy-five-point score (Free), those with a score between fifty and 74.9 (Mostly Free), those with a score between twenty-five and 49.9 (Mostly Unfree), and those with score from zero to 24.9 (Unfree).

A country/territory’s score indicates the perceived level of public sector corruption on a scale of 0-100, where 0 means that a country is perceived as highly corrupt and a 100 means that a country is perceived as very clean.

This dataset includes yearly Democracy Index for multiple countries, which provides a snapshot of the state of democracy worldwidein 165 independent states and two territories. This covers almost the entire population of the world
and the vast majority of the world’s states. The index is basedon five categories: electoral process and pluralism, functioning of government, political participation, political culture, and civil liberties. Based on its scores on a range of indicators within these categories,each country is then classified as one of four types of regime: “full democracy”, “flawed democracy”,
“hybrid regime” or “authoritarian regime".  It ranges from 0 to 10 (strongest preference for democracy).
